  • Backend services
  • Time-series data

The situation

Hydroponic growing depends on conditions that drift constantly. Monitoring them manually is labour-intensive, easy to get wrong, and gives no historical record to learn from.

What we did

  1. 01

Designed the system architecture spanning sensors, controllers, network layer and applications.

  2. 02

Built the IoT layer for continuous monitoring of growing conditions.

  3. 03

Developed the mobile application for monitoring and control away from the site.

  4. 04

Developed the desktop application for full operational oversight.

  5. 05

Built the backend services and database recording every reading for analysis over time.

The outcome

Growing conditions became continuously measured and remotely controllable, with a full historical record. The work was carried through to research output and a commercialisation concept with RoboNile Industries.
